# How to identify string wraps: 1 or 2?

I’m VERY new to anything technical having to do with yo-yos, so your patience and help will be greatly appreciated.

If the string snaps at the axle, how do I know if it was wrapped once or twice around said axle?

Afaik most if not all use just one string wrap, unless you put more on to make it more responsive. Do one wrap and if it doesn’t play like it used to, put another in.

This. If by “snaps” you mean it breaks, I’m not sure how you’d tell. Generally If you’re stringing a yoyo, try having the string on normally (just over the axle/bearing) at first, and if that’s not responsive enough you can put on a second wrap.
