hi everyone I’m new here and just want to know how much a good yoyo costs. right now I am thinking to buy the yyf bimetal 2024 and the shutter wide angle. post in comments for opinions or other good yoyos to buy. ---

Good is super personalized based on preference. My good YoYo and your good YoYo might be very different. Generally a decent monometal YoYo is in the 40-60 range but that’s not always the case. There are more expensive amazing yo-yos and cheaper OEM brands that are fantastic. ---

Yeah almost any metal Yoyo on yoyoexpert will be a great option. Which one comes down to your preference and interest. ---

Really good monometals start at $30 for oem brands, and can go up to 60 or more for nicer ones that have interesting designs or higher grade aluminum. Bimetals can be $45 for cheap budget ones and really good ones averaging 100-120. The yyfr shortcut is great at $30. ---

I see yeah if thats the case then I say go with whatever looks cool at this point in that 30-60 range. there really aren’t any bad choices on yye at that range in the unresponsive space. ---

I’m new here as well. Reading and watching videos I saw the recommendation to avoid bi-metal yoyos as a beginner because, as a beginner, I would be banging the yoyo alot and there is the possibility of causing bi-metal yoyos to separate. Not sure how valid that statement is, but it was enough for me to decide to waiting until I can control my throws before investing in a ‘nice’ yoyo. I’m a Duncan guy from the olden days so my first unresponsive is a Torque which I saw given positive reviews for an inexpensive metal learner model that can take a few dings. ---

I do and its an okay yoyo. not bad not amazing. if you wait until may yoyo factory usually does crazy b grade sales and any older bimetals will probably go on sale. if your looking to get a decent cheap yoyo maybe watch yyf activity and see what they drop in deals. also june 6 is national yoyo day and everyone does crazy sales especially duncan during that day/weekend. if your willing to wait a few weeks to a month and save a tad you can cash in on way better deals than you will right now. speaking of seems amayzing sale starts tomorrow. ---

Second @Captrogers, watch out for YYFs amayzing sale as there will likely be some great deals to be had for players of all skill levels. If you’re buying second hand, you can find a Duncan Yoshicuda X in the $30-40 range, and it’s a fairly popular bimetal. A steal at that price. YYF’s Shutter can also regularly be found for $20-25 in this or other BST groups, one of the most popular monometals ever. Regardless of whether you buy new or used, there is a wide variety of fantastic options available to you under $60. I’m not familiar with which Magicyoyos are the most popular ones, but I know they are in the $20 range new. ---

You can buy a good yoyo for anywhere between $25 and as much as you can afford. Check reviews etc. There really aren’t any real dogs out there. keep in mind $$$$ will not make you better. Practice with a good $25 yoyo is a better investment than spending much much more. ---

This is extremely true also there are extreme diminishing returns past 80 dollars. I know everyone loves a 200 + dollar ti YoYo or whatever but reality is once you get past 80 USD your in the territory of 80% good enough or better and anything beyond is not going to be noticeably better in any way you will truly notice. By all means if you got the money and want the latest cool looking expensive colorway exotic multi material YoYo then go for it but it won’t make you a better yoyoer
