I want to/am starting horizontal play, but I can’t land anything, help, tips

practice.

And don’t go full all blown out 100% horizontal when you start.

Start about 20% horizontal, get that consistent, move up to 40%, get that consistent, and keep escalating like that.

Start with banana turnover. Then you can start doing other tricks

you have to keep the yoyo moving in the same plain as your yoyo strings formation is creating.  
just like when you throw normally, but now that whole plane is going to be tilted off axis. This takes practice and you are going to have too break the habit of correcting tilt automatically.
