I can’t freaking do them! When I try, my yoyo instantly dies on my hand. Any help/tips?

Not much of the yo-yo should make contact with your skin. It only looks like it’s resting horizontally on your hand!
The yo-yo finish makes all the difference. A polished or shiny finish will make it very, very difficult. Sweaty palms don’t work well either.
