# Help! Yoyo bearing suddenly loud!

So, today I was using my shutter and ended up with just a basic knot around the bearing, no big deal, so I undid the knot and the wrapped the Yoyo back up. When I then threw it the bearing was REALLY LOUD and when I stopped the yoyo, I shook it and the bear get was rattling, so if anyone knows a solution to this, (beside the cliche of clean and lube your bearing) it would be much appreciated.

Sorry to say but cleaning is probably the issue. You probably got something in the bearing which normally causes it to make a loud noise. Only way to find out is by cleaning it and lubing it.

Quite frankly, the first step in solving a quirky bearing issue is to clean and lube it. Ninety percent of the time that fixes it, so why are you so quick to disregard it? Otherwise, buy a new bearing and forget about it. It’s that simple.

Because I tried cleaning and lubing my bearing and neither worked

Well you didn’t say that to start with.  
Did you take the shields off to clean it?

Then it looks like you should buy a new one.

Actually lubing it a bit should make it quieter and smooth it out some.
