# Hat Pad Question...

Hi there. Ever since I found that Hat pads work in CLYW’s, I’ve been wanting to try them out. I do have one Question however: do thin pads or thick pads work best in CLYW’s?

From what I’ve heard, your have to stack the thick pads for them to fit.  
It might get a little spendy when two go in one side…

I suggest you use normal smooth pads. It is true that you have to stack two in one side to get them to fill up the recess. If you use two smooth, it will be flush, however, if you use one smooth and one thin, then it will be a little recessed.
