I’m sorry, I try not to be a grammar snob (and I don’t claim to be an expert), but there’s one common grammar mistake that I see cropping up again and again in yoyo companies’ official product descriptions: “it’s” v. “its”.

“It’s” is a contraction of “it is” or “it has.”

“Its” is a possessive pronoun. It means “belonging to it” or “of it.”

A simple test you can do to see which one you should use is to see if replacing “its/it’s” with “it is” would make contextual sense or not. For example, the sentence “It’s spin time is unparalleled!” wouldn’t make any sense if you rewrote it “It is spin time is unparalleled!” This tells you that you should have used the possessive form “its.”

Finally, "its’ " is not a word, so never, ever use it.

I hope you found this primer useful; if anybody has any additional grammar questions I’ll do my best to answer them.

What about ‘it is’s’. That would be contracted as its’.

By the way, I’ve already slapped your forehead for you. So now you don’t have to search your keyboard for those little stars that makes your face palm feel special.

I never knew that! Thanks! (I am not being sarcastic). I will definitely pay more attention to this from now on
