Thank you for support 🙂

Yoyofficer sells really well in Japan and Czech Republic and I believe they would also sell very well on YYE.

They are made in Uganda, in region ruled by warlord, made by small children with AIDS and their favorite song is Hasa Diga Eebowai [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sm6MowcttHc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sm6MowcttHc)🙂

Now seriously, we are small manufacturer, so yo-yos are made for us by one of many legitimate machine shops in Shenzhen, China.

Are the Eager’s weight rings a different aluminum? Or was it just more efficient for production to machine them separately and insert them instead of doing it all as one solid half? Or is it for the “looks” of the yoyo? 😃

Excellent point Greg! What exactly is the point of aluminum weight rings if they are made from the same alloy as the rest of the yoyo? Generally weight rings are made with a heavier alloy like titanium or brass so you can get more rim weight and more spin times.

it could be 7075 aluminum for the rings.

I had little design input on this yo-yo( I just picked name for this one 🙂 ), so I will not get you exact answers about design.

Yoyofficer decided to use aluminium weight rings to stay low with price. Steel, brass or titanium rings are really expensive(for example, on TP it’s 100$ for rings), still there are plans for steel weight rings in future.

Even though it’s just aluminium, it really helps with weight distribution. For example Berserker also uses just aluminium rings, Eager is using them in similiar way.

And yes, it also helps to make yo-yo looking better.

but is it 7075 or 6061 aluminum for the rings?

Not sure, but I think it makes no difference. Change in weight between materials on whole yo-yo is just around 2-3 grams, on this small ring, it’s almost nothing.

I think I’m just gonna pass on all of these models. There’s no point to using the same alloy in the weight rings that you use in the rest of the yoyo. Protostar uses aluminum weight rings because aluminum is more dense than plastic giving it more rim weight.

(Removed this section due to inaccuracy and me being plain wrong}

Since you’re having them manufactured in China, the cost of using brass or steel would have been minimal. You should have just forked out a few extra dollars or a denser alloy. I could have got on board with that. 6061 weight rings on a 6061 yoyo doesn’t make any sense.

To each their own, but the Berzerker’s description of its metal points to aluminum. “High density metal weight ring used in hang glider frames… and aircraft manufacturing…” sound like aluminum to me. But maybe not. If it wasn’t, you’d figure they’d say, “With tungsten weight ring” or something instead of the generic description (which sounds like aluminum).

I don’t think it’s functionally better to use the same aluminum as a “weight ring”. But I’m on board with the cosmetic look of it. Pretty cool.

I’m more likely to get a Fit or something like that anyhow; not in the market for any full-sized throws at the moment. But I wouldn’t rule it out just because the “weight ring” is really just an “appearances ring”.

No, you have bad information. Berserker uses 7075 rings, you can found it even on official C3 webpage. Just because you read something on YYE shop, it doesnt have to be right.

You think that makes difference, I think 3% difference in density on small rings means nothing.

Designers in Yoyofficer think it makes sense.

The body of the Berserker is 6061 aluminium and the rings are 7075 aluminium. Its only a little difference but you can feel it when it spins. I have a darkstar and if i put one rubber ring (2,5 gramm) in it it plays heavier.

Not to throw rocks at the hornets nest here, but the mass added by the density increase from 6061 to 7075 in only the rings is nowhere near 2.5g
