# Getting the shields off of a yomega bearing

What is the best way to de-shield a yomega yo yo bearing

Depends on the bearing. On raiders and others w/the small bearing it’s best to just pry them off. I have yet to be able to find a retaining ring on them. I have no experience with other sizes they may use, but chances are they use the same style w/o retaining rings, so again, just pry them off and throw them away. But look first to see if the do have a “c” ring holding them on, in which case the trick is to pop the ring off the same as with any other bearing.
