The outer shells require a gentle touch, squeezing them or gripping too hard will stop the inner part from spinning

They just announced a bimetal version. Personally I would go with an offset limitless for the cost but that’s just me.
The shells can be replaced and are pretty durable

Yeah I like that they can be swapped around to dial in a colorway you like.
I did not know they were going bimetal with it, interesting!

Just know this if you plan on long play sessions;
OSHA requires employers to provide hearing protection, including earplugs, to employees exposed to an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) of 85 decibels (dBA) or higher.
Pro Tip;
To make the 9 Dagons quieter thick lube the pair of 1/2 spec bearings for the shells 🐚. Everyone around you will thank you.

I was just at club with both and I promise you the current version nine dragons is louder than the limitless…. They are both silent va the old nine dragons though

In what way does it play awful? Cause “it plays awful” isnt very descriptive.
Like, its a novelty yoyo, and I found it to do its job of being a spinning shell yoyo perfectly well. Its not going to be a daily throw for me, but it does play fun. And its anecdotally quieter than the 9 dragons (though I dont own either, have just played them)

Its like comparing a Magicyoyo K2 next to a iYoyo Shooting star.
The material used is this cheap plastic that will definitely crack if you drop it a few times. The nine Dragons plays heavy and it’s a big yoyo but otherwise doesn’t even play that bad, the limitless is just not even pleasant to yoyo with.
And stop with the loudness thing. Ben compared everything. Unless you have another test with a bigger sample size you should just take his test for truth.

4 decibels difference for one throw on each is margin of error territory especially with how yo-yos can vary even within a batch meaning there is probably a 2-4 decibels variance for each test Ben did there that we would only learn the high low ranges of through a significantly larger sample size.
Regardless sound is funny and while decibel (amplitude) is a point for pure loudness ; the frequency (pitch) can impact how much we are willing to tolerate the noise and perceived loudness.
I don’t have testing but the nine dragons definitely sounds like a higher pitch which is probably why it’s perceived as louder as it’s less tolerable to our ears.
In a room full of bearing sounds a kid throwing the 9d is easy to pick out Va the lower roar of the limitless even if it’s a few decibels louder
Regardless the bimetal version sounds neat not 100 dollars neat but definitely interesting.
As for performance I don’t really think that matters in a gimmick Yoyo anyway as that’s not the point… Fun I think all of the free spinng shell throws are neat even the auldey one and the hyper yo stuff which honestly might be louder…
I do think price per amount of enjoyment of the gimmick presented the limitless is closer to a good price but cool factor I’ll give it to the 9d
