The magic yoyo d4 can be played fixed axle, l play mine with the transaxle which ain’t really that good as mine have really tight starburst gap ---

I used it for the DNA video because I don’t have a fixed-axle yo-yo with fingerspin dimples, and the tutorial showed a pull start and fingerspin, otherwise I would have just palm-grinded the DNA with any other yo-yo. I removed the plastic sleeve, which I demonstrated in the video. So I used it as a fixed-axle yo-yo. About the response: I had several yo-yos of this model - some are more responsive than others, but almost all have adequate response (not the worst among yoyos with a transaxle). ---
