Is there any noticable performance difference between the Stainless Steel YYR DS vs the Platinum YYR DS?

The only thing I know is that flat bearings are out-dated… I read that somewhere :wink:

Extensive list and I wish I tried more of the choices in the poll. I voted for the 3 bearings I have experience with and really like.
If the poll was for “if you were to buy a bearing what would you get” my votes might be different since I like to test and I have a few on my list I’d like to try.
But, bearings are more difficult to test than string due to price. String I’ve been ordering variety packs and can cheaply try out a bunch; bearings the price adds up quickly trying all of them out so I’ve been sticking with what I know I like. Hopefully this poll gives all of us some ideas on better ones we haven’t yet tried, so thanks for creating this!

A very lightly lubed Platinum DS is my best player. I also like the luftverk full ceramic, and have been pleasantly surprised by the Mazal Top hybrid bearings

Lots of people say the platinum coated one is much smoother and lasts longer. I think they say it’s also quieter?

I gotta say out of all the bearings I have, the myy v shape bearing spins the longest and is the easiest to maintain. Not to mention it also comes pre-unshielded!

Once my full ceramic Mazal bearing broke in- its my best bearing.

Out of the handful of bearings I’ve tried, the Pixel is my current favorite. I ordered some Buddha Double Doubles to see how they compare but it is taking a while to get here. I also really like the Original Throw concave.

What does Good Life use in the Gully, Gulch and Valley? Those seem good. How about CLYW? I’ve never swapped a bearing in a yoyo other than to replace a flat with concave so I don’t know how to judge between them.

I believe they all use standard center track bearings . I know that clyw uses the pixel bearing but I think I have only got one pixel bearing over the last two years in the Clyw’s that I have purchased .
