I get most of my yo-yos for free. They’re hand-me-downs from my dad! But my fave is my YYJ KOS, how much would it cost now?

Seems to me they were in the $25-$30 range when they came out. That might be on the low side.

The YYJ Classic gets my vote. I ordered a PSG (the Gem Series) as soon as they dropped, and was pretty disappointed - it was really vibey, and the response is super slippy. Is it just mine?

I gotta say, listening to you all, I want to give that yyj classic a try!
my vote: I gotta say my adegle asteroid, it plays great for the price.

My asteroid’s response pads were slippy, siliconed it and it’s wonderful. I also find if I give it a extra twist when I screw it back together, it’s smoother. You should play around with that, might help.

I had to tune the Gem PSG when it arrived. Just a bit more twist took care of it. Response was fine. I have heard of people who have had issues with the stock response pads though. Most people resolve this via the application of a silicone product instead.

Yeah, I’ll definitely try that out, hopefully it’ll work out, I really want to love this plastic. The vibe isn’t whats annoying, its more of the slippy binds, because it still plays really well, its just that the binds aren’t very good stock.

Save up a dollar and get an Asteroid. Silicone it a replace the stock bearing with a ten ball and it is great. Even with stock guts it is a good yoyo. A budget metal could out perform it, but hey, it’s fifteen bucks.

You meant “get an Asteroid and save $3”.
I, however, prefer the PSG over the Asteroid. The response area of the Asteroid is too small for a plastic yoyo, making it way too slippery even when flowable silicone is used. The slipping problem, on the other hand, can be solved on the PSG simply by replacing the response.

Maybe you got a bunk asteroid, mine binds oh so smooth with sili. Zero slip.

And how does it play? Like I said, I’m wary of the weight. But at 11 bucks,I had to try. The magistrate looks good too, but a bit over 15.

that’s weird because I got 3 of them and didn’t have a problem with any of them. No vibes, smooth as butter, one did need a twist to tighten, binds were sharp and snappy but didnt bind inside tricks. I wad blown away by them. Maybe i got the picks of the litter. Lol.

The T5 is still my favorite Magic YoYo. I also have the Magistrate and I like the T5 better.
