That’s one way to do it, but not a very good way.

Try to get the yoyo to start moving upwards at the same time you throw the string loop down. Do this by pulling up with your throwhand. This should help some if you can get the timing down.

> I realize this thread is a little old but I figure my question is pretty in line with the OP’s question so I’ll give it a shot. I recently purchased a dv888 as well and it will not bind. I can bind on all my other yoyos, but the dv888 just slides right on down the string without catching a bit. Any ideas what the problem is? Me? Should I get different pads?

No, just pinch the bind, and push it in the gap slowly. That’s it.

Some people can learn binds in one day, but the earlier you learn it the more unsmooth you will be (in the majority of cases). Nobody has to have unresponsive yoyos to learn tricks. Starting responsive to get some of the basics down is a good idea.

i don’t think the dv888 should be your first yoyo. i mean its some $$$ but then again its not that expensive. i would recomend a kickside or somethin less expensive. that way you can learn some mounts and tricks then upgrade later. just in case you happen to loose intrest in yoyos.
