I have been thinking about picking up a butterfly or an imperial for a while to practice my ariels for 5a but I was wondering weather you could make them, especially the butterfly, unresponsive and how you do it.

Just yoyo in the grass. You won’t be able to use either of those. They won’t have enough spin unless you are REALLY good.

i agree. when i started trying 5a, i used a throw monkey to start out with and did it on the grass. also if u decide to try on concrete, the rubber will prevent scratches on a pretty yoyo
