# Disposing of lighter fluid

How do you guys get rid of your lighter fluid after cleaning a bearing? I just pour it down the drain but that doesn’t seem right. I don’t know what else to do.

Definitely shouldn’t be pouring it down a drain, that’s not good for the plumbing, and is actually illegal lol; don’t dump it on the ground or bury it either.
Best thing to do would be let it evaporate, you can do that by leaving it in the container with the lid off, though it will take longer. You can also pour it into a more shallow dish which will expose more surface area allowing it to evaporate quicker.
