# Dark Magic plastic isn't flush where it meets the aluminum ring.

I’m a newbie to Yo-yo play and been working with my kickside before I got my Dark magic. I noticed that the plastic is slightly raised over the aluminum so that it kind of feels sharp. Is this normal on the Dark Magics or is mine potentially defective? I would think this raised edge might reduce string life.

Don’t worry, unless it’s very exaggerated that’s normal for Dark Magics. Mine’s pretty much the same way.

I think its like that so you can adjust the gap. Andre kind of talks about it in one of the videos.

That has nothing to do with the gap. What they are talking about is where the aluminum outer weight ring meets the plastic hub area.
