BTW, about to get a 2x2. I know there’s Fridrich for the 3x3, but what method should I learn for the 2x2? Any good sites? (lol, I find I use this section in the Yoyo forums for speed cubing advice more than in the speed solving forums). ---

I’m sub 3 with CLL, 2x2 is probably my best event lol. I would recommend you start with Ortega. I got down to a sub 4 consistent average with it, and was able to sub 3 using some help from CLL. Ortega involves making a face, doing OLL, and then finishing the cube. Pretty simple, only 5 PBL algs, all of which are easy. If you want to get serious about it, CLL is where you build a layer, and finish the cube. There are 42 algorithms. If you get super serious, you can learn EG. I’m working on it. It’s where you build a face and then finish the cube in one algorithm. There are 3 subsets, 42 algs each. Hope this helps! ---

so do you kind of build the face like the white cross on 3x3, then use algorithms to complete the rest depending on the configuration you have left? ---

J perm, swaps two adj. corners in top layer on the right R U R’ F’ R U R’ U’ R’ F R2 U’ R’ U’ Diag swap, swaps two diagonal corners in the top layer: this is one of the PBL’s done twice. It just cancels moves 🙂 R’ U R’ F2 R F’ U R’ F2 R F’ R Adjacent top, diag bottom: Hold the bar in the top layer in the back R’ U R’ F2 R F’ R Adjacent Bottom, diag top: hold bar on bottom in the back R U’ R’ U’ R’ F2 U’ R U R Adj top and bottom: R2 U’ R2 U2 F2 U’ R2 and the easiest of all 🙂 Diag diag, R2 F2 R2 ---

BTW I printed Bob Burton’s Algorithms if you think that’s good. Actually the memorization is coming along! Although sometimes I find I have to do PBL in 2 steps. Hmmm ---
