I understand that this is a ‘real word’, but regardless, to me, it’s like one of those words that you should Never use to name a kid. Obviously, the above is just an abstract, parallel… But the logic and reasoning is the same. It’s easy for some shortsighted parents to come up with what they feel maybe an original name so their child doesn’t feel like they have a name everybody else has. Realson…Egbert…Napoleon…Axelrod…. Cornelius…. Bobby Joe, etc. Mostly names you’ll probably never forget, but don’t really want to remember. Likewise, I understand that yo-yo‘s are just skill toys. They’re inanimate objects. Their feelings will not be hurt if you give them stupid names. Or what might be considered names that could’ve been better match to the actual product. Some people will defend a yo-yo name by saying that it means something else in Japanese folklore or it’s a famous word that was used to describe something blah blah blah in the yo-yo is as famous as whatever it is the word was originally used for so they want to give it a name that fits it’s awesomeness, et Or the maker says that it’s the signature yo-yo for a certain player who just happens to like that word no matter how goofy it is, but it’s his signature yo-yo so they’re letting him name it. Or maybe it fits some kind of theme out of a comic book out of the Lord of the Ring movie or out of a proctological exam? I remember when I was a kid they would name certain pastries, and things of that nature with the dumbest names. It literally made a game out of it. There was some brown cookies called dingdongs. A chocolate coated Twinkie called a Chocodile. Some other chocolate cookie called a Ho-Ho. A lot of cars over the years have had some pretty stupid names. But I won’t even go into that if you pay attention to cars, you probably already figured out that some of them could have much better names. Maybe it’s just me…. Yo-yo. Mowl seems to be in the habit of turning out one excellent yo-yo after the other one. But some of their names are definitely a little on the shaky side. ---

“Heterogeneity” is about different parts something is made from. Halves, pads, bearing, axle, engraving, etc., and in this case also the sponsored player’s diversity of tricks. * * * Not a fan of naming yoyos after diseases. But the Xintis Schizophrenia and the bimetal Schizophrenia RX play really well. Wouldn’t mention them otherwise. ---

I mean, who doesn’t like dinosaurs…? Also, I have that exact yoyo that was playing with it last night. I am seriously not joking. My kids found it and bought it for me. I thought it was funny because they know I love dinosaurs. So then I had to show them how awesome it was. It didn’t quite meet that incredible description novel above, but it was definitely far off. ---
