That looks like dir collected in your bearing. I doubt that you can rust in such a specific area. If this does not affect playability, then there is no problem in leaving it there. But if it is affecting playability, you should just clean your bearing normally:[How to Clean Your YoYo Bearing - Yo-Yo Mods and Maintenance - YoYoExpert](http://yoyoexpert.com/forums/index.php/topic,871.0.html)
If this does not work, you might find out what that mess really consists of. Then you will know what to clean it in. But if it’s just dirt, it should be possible to clean off in mineral spirits.

you could try hosing it down with brake parts cleaner or a penetrating oil called pb blaster. if either of those work you’d need to clean the bearing in the regular way after.

That will not affect the play, there was another post like this but that doesn’t matter.This ussually happens with YYJ bearings,here are some pics:

Anyway this does not affect the play.
