# Cleaning bearings?

I was wondering how often I should clean my yoyo bearings? I’ve heard if you clean them regularly they last a long time.

Clean them when they sound like they need it. First I would try adding a bit of lubricant to the yoyo first. If that doesn’t really solve the problem after a bit of play, then clean it. Sounds too simple, but that’s really the only time you need to (in my opinion).

I have lubed my yoyo multiple times and have had it for a month now. I should clean it once a month about right?

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

Seriously, if it’s working and it’s quiet, and it doesn’t seem gritty, just play. You don’t even need to lube it. Unless that is, you’re playing responsive. Then lube as need for desired responsiveness.
