# Can you clean a bearing with petrol or paint thinner?

What other things can you use to clean bearing?

Paint thinner, as in mineral spirits or lacquer thinner is fine. Petrol/gasoline works but it’s far more dangerous to work with. The general recommendation is to skip it.

I use Paint Thinner, they’re a type of Mineral Spirits. It works, just try not to drink/get it on a wound or something. :🙂  
Some people use other things but if you have it around it’s the best
