# Can you clean a bearing with one shield?

Hey all. So I have been trying to get the shields off of two of my One Drop 10 balls for over an hour. The first c clips on both of the bearings came off on my second or third try. I am just about ready to give up. Can I just clean the bearing without removing the second shield?

Nearly all of my bearings only have 1 shield. It offers some protection, but is just as easy to clean.
