# Can i replace one pad at a time?

if one response pad goes bad it anything wrong with just replacing the bad one? assuming the response pads are different brands/types ofc

No, you absolutely can **not** replace only one response pad…
Yo-yos operate on a delicate cosmic equilibrium, replacing one pad would throw off the universal balance, and next thing you know, the entire fabric of space-time would unravel. Do you _want_ to risk opening up a wormhole in your living room?
Not to mention, the pads have rights, man. You can’t just treat one like it’s disposable—they’ll go on strike if you replace just one. And the next time you throw, you’ll get nothing but sad, defeated vibes from your yo-yo.

Do what you want it’s your yoyo. Some yo-yos work best with only one pad or a pad that’s very worn down and a fresh pad
