# Buying a Summit

Hi,
I was thinking of buying a summit and it is pretty expensive so I wanted to know if my desicion is right or should I get another yo-yo?

Hard to say without knowing your preferences and how advanced you are. It’s a pretty good yoyo but if you’re new to the game, there are plenty of yoyo that are just as good for quite a bit less money.

Summit’s an excellent yoyo. You’re spoiled for choice out there, but if you’ve done some research, discovered the Summit, and it’s in your budget, you don’t really need to look elsewhere.
When buying your first few expensive throws, a lot of people go into “analysis paralysis” and overthink it. The Summit’s great. If it appeals to you, don’t let yourself get sidetracked into endless research. That’s time you could spend yoyoing with your new Summit!

It is expensive, but it is worth it. Trust me it is one of the best yoyos you will ever get to throw. If it is not in your budget do not go and spend the rest of your money on it, cause there are other good throws. Just putting the output of my experience with it. Also, you can put side-effects on it which is cool :wink:

The Summit is a really great yoyo I love mine. If it’s in your budget go for it.

you could pick one up from the bst’s for around $80 probably, $100 max

the summit is overpriced, like any other yoyo over $80.
get something cheap, like a shutter (i don’t have one, but from what i’ve heard, it’s good enough for anyone).

I think your best bet is try as many yoyos as you can get your hands on
Dont get me wrong, the summit is very good. Ive had several of them
But theres are litterarly thousands of yoyos out there that are not per say “better” but different
Every yoyo has its own feel to it
My favorite throws come from small companies that have a bunch of character
Most of them are right around the $100 price range
Just find that yoyo that just feels perfect when you throw it
(G squared Albatross for me)
At the end of the day its all about having fun!
