I have a gray vayder (#297) and one half is very bright and shiny while the other is somewhat dull, is there a way to polish these up without stripping the finish off? ---

The ano inside of the cups is much more delicate, it came off of mine very easily, so avoid that area if possible. ---

So is this process basically the same as polishing aluminum? Chuck it in a drill and spin counter clockwise? ---

Shoot, I wouldn’t even mind taking it down to raw, I thought it was some sort of coating like fresh green or something, I didn’t realize it was anodized. Edit: does this mean I could soap+water clean, and dip it in an etching solution to just strip it? I always wanted a raw one so I could make it pink or maybe light blue ---

If you want it raw you can use mutli etch to remove. Or for a cheaper option you can use whinks rust remover. Make sure to use the proper PPE as that stuff can be dangerous. Definitely use it in a well ventilated area or outside. There are some videos on youtube also that walks you through it. ---

It should also be pretty easy to strip with like 1500 grit sandpaper, then you can polish it really nicely. ---
