Hey all, yesterday while filming a trick involving Texas Cowboy I may or may not have slammed my Pheasant into the concrete from not jumping high enough and it developed some pretty intense pulse vibe (poor choice in retrospect really 😅). I checked the axle and it doesn’t appear bent. I also tried taking it out and threading it very carefully back into both ends of the yoyo with no noticeable difference.

Since it was spinning horizontally and the damage is clearly on the rims, I think it probably knocked the rim out of place or something but it honestly looks aligned to me. Any idea what the issue could be or how to fix it? TIA 😁

</div>

Press the rim back in, stick the YoYo half on something flat and press down on it with your hand, you should hear and feel a click and reassemble

</div>

So I did try that and it didn’t really seem to make that click, do I need to put a lot of force into it like leaning into it while I try to push it into place? Just don’t want to overdo it

Yeah press harder just make sure the YoYo isn’t assembled and the bearing and axle are removed. Wear a glove to protect your hand

Ok good call! I’ll give that a go and keep y’all posted! Would love to salvage this yoyo if at all possible 😅

I have taken a bi metal before and removed the bearing and axle. Laid it on the kitchen floor rim down and stood on the back of it.

</div>

Not sure if I have the guts to stand on it but if I can’t apply enough force otherwise I don’t have much to lose I suppose 😅

Yes standing on it works too - had to do that to my palpitation ES

</div>

Ok so I definitely needed to stand on it. I’ve tried the adjustment a few times, standing on it, putting it back together, testing it and repeating and it’s better than when I started but it does still pulse a bit. Is there anything else I should try or should I just keep repeating the process until it stops pulsing?

It may not stop pulsing - it may just be a characteristic of the YoYo now

Good to know. Thanks for the help on this! It did make a big difference and I’m not nearly as worried about the yoyo now that it’s only pulse vibing a little bit

If you can find something similar to this tool, you can give both halves a good wack with a mallet. The rim will pop back into place. Sometimes it just takes that amount of force to click back in. Standing on it might not be enough blunt force.

I like to use a rubber mallet to hit it back into place

bimetal pheasant must be really sensitive to dings. mine was gently dinged against a desk and started hella vibing too lol. as much as i tried resetting the ring or straightening it out, it never recovered.

All great tips, thanks everyone! I unfortunately don’t have a rubber mallet ATM but maybe I ought to pick one up 😄

That’s possible but at least when I got mine, it had already snapped the string and smashed into the wall from the previous owner and honestly the vibe was really minimal and didn’t pulse at all. This hit was pretty substantial so I can understand why it knocked the rings out of alignment since it was horizontal and it smacked hard straight into concrete. That’s surprising to me that your’s got so much vibe from a small ding on the desk. Maybe it hit the rims just right to misalign them?

A block of wood and a hammer will probably work just as well.

Yoyofactory sells a piece to set the rims back in. It was sold with the shutter evo. I believe they have it for 10$ on their website… you can use it for most bimetals it gives u something to press down on
