Chrono Trigger’s OST is impeccable Other good ones: DOOM 2016 Pokémon Emerald Version (especially Battle! Deoxys). The remakes in Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby are good too. Caves of Qud has one of the best main menu themes in my opinion ---

There’s a distinct lack of FM synth going on in these recommendations, not one of my personal favorites but Thunder Force IV goes real hard. Yuzo Koshiro cutting his teeth with crispy FM synth hardware is definitely what elevates the EO1-3 soundtracks. First off, I agree with Brandon. WoW has a LOT of really incredible music. The Ocarina soundtrack is a classic. Second, my favorite in recent memory is the Cadence of Hyrule soundtrack. The rhythm gamified versions of the old Zelda tracks are truly amazing. ---
