So, I’m trying to get into 5a competition, and I want to get a turning point, mostly since delivery is pretty cheap. I want to get a mono, thinking of getting a st tempest, derive or hades al. If anyone has tried these and can tell me how they play, and how well they would hold up for 5a comp, it would be very much appreciated.

I think you should also try the st elmo. In my opinion its hands down the best TP mono. Very maneuverable, durable, and powerful.

I really like St elmo’s shape, and it’s also a bit cheaper that the other tp monos, but I think it might be a bit narrow for 5a. I’ll Consider it though, since durability is the main thing that I’m looking for. Thanks for the suggestion.

Its is a bit narrow but if you can hit all your 5a on that youd be pretty good. Another decent one might be the acanthus. The mono version of the acanthus s which i know to he insane for 5a as well.

Acanthus would have been my first choice, but its sold out almost everywhere, and the bimetal version is too expensive for me…

St elmo is a good option though, it would definitely improve my accuracy.
