All bearings eventually go crunchy and just require maintenance. Lots of Bearing Maintenance threads within the Forums. Certain regions require different techniques. I’m in the Southwest and Canned air and a 1/2 of drop of Bones Speed Cream works for me after I deshield with and x-acto knife. Here is just another example.

> Hey Guys, I know there’s a lot of threads and discussion about this, I just wanted to share my method about what should be the minimum bearing maintenance routine. Do you lube your bearings? Don’t you? Let me know what you guys think. I personally like to apply the tiny (very tiny (super tiny)), amount of lube you see in this video after cleaning them. I found that it keeps the bearing quite for long time without making it responsive. [[How to Clean and Lube yoyo bearings - My method] ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CtYXuF8qw0) …

> And I must say, it works pretty good. I gave it a good clean in some acetone, put it on the end of a pen, and spun it with an air duster. Put a drop of lube on it, and spun it to Kingdom Come. It made this cool high-pitched whirring sound. And the best part? My yoyo is now about 30% quieter and smoother. Shout out to @codinghorror for the hyperspin method. It works pretty well
