It should be well-known by now that I am a huge C3 fanboy. Why? They make fun yoyos that don’t skimp on performance either.

Until a few days ago, I thought they peaked with either the beloved Hydrogen Crash or the W1ld collaboration, Dinosaur in the Wild. Treading water. Maintaining the standard but not pushing the boundary even further.

I was wrong.

Despite being a plain bimetal design and not a trimaterial or another fancy method of design, the Vanitas 7075 Revival is exactly that- a revival for the Vanitas family and, in my opinion, potentially the brand as well alongside it’s contemporaries also released by the same company at 2026 Worlds.

The Revival is an interesting take on the classic Vanitas family due to it being the widest entry of that yoyo yet, and also tweaks some of my gripes with the initial versions in hand comfort and bind feel. Specifically, instead of using a hard V shape like the OG Vanitas versions (a shape that was maintained until the 55mm trimaterial), the edges of the Revival are more rounded to better fit the hand and soften the feel of binds. The Revival is also notably heavier than most other entries at over 68g, but doesn’t feel the part except in spin power, offering superior mobility and ease of control. Stability is absolutely absurd, with horizontal combos (which for me have recently become slightly less limited as I experience a yoyo revival of my own) easily capable of staying on-plane for as long as you can keep the yoyo moving. No budging, no precession. That thing is locked-in.

Downsides of the yoyo are hard to come by, but I do have some _very_ small gripes. This yoyo hates binding even at full spin in its stock set with hard pads and intermediate-to-slightly-thick string, and requires either perfect bind form in that setup or softer pads+ thicker string to be more consistent. I also would hesitate to call the yoyo revolutionary in design in terms of pushing boundaries of innovation, rather, in my opinion, being the current zenith of the competition bimetal.

Get it if you like good yoyos that are wide. If you don’t like wide, I’m unsure why you read this far.

Grading:

Power: 8/10 (generous, more than most other wide compy yoyos)

Stability: \*/10 (special, hard to describe just how stubbornly it remains on-plane)

Speed: 6/10 (slower than previous Vanitas entries, but still capable of moving)

Control: 10/10 (you are mentally and spiritually linked to the yoyo while it spins)

Ben’s Alphabetacular Yoyo Grade: SS (for Super Super or something like that)

Specs:

Diameter: 56mm

Width: 56.07mm

Mass: 68.1g

Gap width: Unknown (feels very wide, around 4.8 like previous Vanitas models)

Trapeze width: 54mm

Materials: 7075 Al body with (presumably) 303/304 stainless rings.

Compare to: W1ld neolith, C3 Vanitas 55mm, C3 Vanitas family in general

Hope you enjoyed reading!
