# Begginer slacks and hooks

i want to start working with slack elements and i want to know some good tricks that aren’t too hard to learn. so please give me some good tricks

and also, i need help with my hooks; i can never actually land a hook,either the slack just bounces off my finger or it dosent go over it. Does anyone haveany tips?

This [hook tutorial](https://youtu.be/3xr9IXacPx0) from @PendingThrows24 is what helped it click for me. Best advice is to start out the whip kinda slow, then when your hand passes underneath the yoyo, speed up the whipping motion. Think of it like how someone cracks a whip. After you master this, Brent Stole will be easier to learn.

Some other trick suggestions I have would be Jade Whip, Follow, Revolutions, Keychain Whip, Iron Whip, Ninja Vanish, Branding… that should be enough to get you started.

Jade whip, iron whip, keymakers whip are my favorite easy whip tricks. Slackicide, brother slack are fun and easyish
