# Bearing decision help

So I want to buy the gold bearing here on yoyoexpert. I thought it would look really sweet in the blue metropolis i’m getting. I only want it for event yo-yoing, not hardcore play, I’m just wondering, is it worth it? will the bearing turn to crud after a while? or will it be just fine? I’d also like to know if it is fine to clean it in lighter fluid too? thanks for the help!

I just got a Metropolis. Think about this:

First, nobody is going to see the bearing.  
Second, nobody is going to care.  
Third, the gold color wears off.  
Fourth, I haven’t heard too many good things about this. I’ve done a fair amount of research and unfortunately, the negatives far outweigh the positives, at least from a reviews point of view.

I’d say clean the bearing it came with really good. Since it’s a C-bearing, feel free to swap it out with a One Drop 10-Ball, YYF, YYJ Speed Bearing, General Yo, CBC Centertrak, Dif-E-Yo KK, or a Terrapin X Wing Cut.

I’ve been playing mine stock. Works fine. I haven’t cleaned the bearing yet.

I always have used the stock bearing. I just wanted it to really just show it off, it should make the yo-yo look really cool.
