I love this throw but on talon grinds and finger spins it feels terrible and let’s off a bad smell? Assuming either my nail or some ano from the yo? I’ve had a few yos over the year that seem to have this effect… it’s really the only thing keeping me from having this be my favorite mini ---

Been loving mine, fun addition to my collection. The finish isn’t the best for grinds/fingerspins I will admit, but I definitely don’t have a smell problem. ---

It seems to be going away the more I throw it and finger spins/ talon grind on it… I’m hoping it gets better with time… but yeah aside from that it’s great ---

This is a very interesting post. Sorry to hear it’s smelly Anodizing shouldn’t smell after it’s “cured”, but if you hit a yoyo on a tile floor or other hard/sharp object and then smell it - you’ll smell some of the “chemical smell” (which doesn’t smell good). It’s sulfuric acid. I’m thinking that’s the story with yours. I’ve never noticed it from fingernails (I don’t have much in terms of those anyway), but I’ve dinged our yoyos against tile/metal and smelt the smell. I especially notice it if I take some of the aluminum off in the ding. Sorry my yoyo literally stinks lol, but it’s part of the anodizing process. 🤷🏻‍♂️ ---

Your yo-yo is awesome… I’ve had a few throws do this over the years and it always perplexes me… that said it seems to just be case of a new yo-yo cuz the more I play it the less it smells and better it grinds so idk 🤷‍♂️… and even if I couldn’t grind it I’d be keeping this one anyway because it’s :fire::fire: ---

Doc Pop told a story recently about a yoyo someone wanted to return back in the day because it “melts too easily.” Now I can add “this yoyo stinks” — as in it smells bad — to my growing list of strange yoyo accusations.
