It’s just doing regular tricks, but with the yoyo sideways. If you want to do sideways/horizontal tricks, get really quick at the tricks that you want to do horizontal, but they have to be quick tricks, such as Skin the Gerbil and similar type tricks.

Exactly, almost any trick that you can do in frontstyle you can do horizontally if you move quickly enough. Speed is imperative to keep the yo-yo in the horizontal plane. Slowing down will cause the yo-yo to fall and you’ll miss catching it on the strings, or if it’s in contact with the strings and it start to fall the yo-yo will tilt and possibly spin out.
