I haven’t read through this thread so I may be repeating information but heres what I think. Yoyoing has evolved a lot since the boom. It has changed from a toy to a hobby/sport. Back when the boom was around most people went into yoyoing not looking to make it a hobby. Maybe they looked forward to trying to learn split the atom, but most of them didn’t. If the yoyo’s do boom, I doubt it will boom in the way you want. If it does boom it willl boom as a toy, we won’t have thousands of new forum members or tons of people going to contests. It’s a hobby, and like a hobby or sport, it has to be chosen between other hobby/sports. No one can do everthing. And even though more people are becoming aware, I don’t think any large amount will make the choice to yoyo. At this point, looking at a yoyoboom is like looking at a volleyball boom. Anyways, just my take. I’m interested to see how it plays out. ---

I think there may be a smallish boom but it is limited by the prices and skill level of the cheapest yoyos. If someone only has 10 dollers there gonna buy a Duncan butterfly or mosquito not a 50 dollar fundametal ---

I carry mine around like a good luck charm in my pocket. Whenever I have space or opportunity I throw a couple of tricks. It takes weeks to really get a trick smooth, that’s why I throw a double or nothing or Matrix and it gets better and faster all the time. Once you get a few tricks down you begin to improvise and start mixing what you know, most people are amazed when they see a simple combination . When they ask how much does it cost I simply say their around 50 to 100 bucks, if you want something that spins great you have to make the investment. But A really good player can make a 30 dollar yo look like a hundred , the player can tell the difference. Once you become more comfortable with a yo, you really appreciate a well made yo. I’m a retired teacher and kids or teens have a way of mastering yo-yo tricks with amazing speed. If they spend a hundred for a pair of shoes , they will spend 50 or more for a great throw. ---

I’ve never driven more than 2000km in 8 days of time just for a hobby yes it’s just a toy, yes it’s not “important”, but nevertheless, it has some “deep” into it as said before, it’s already happening but it won’t be a “boom”, people are just going to pick up yoyoing more and know more about it ---
