It’s been considered bad for for over 15 years to “bring back” threads over 60 days old. These days, it’s often 30 days or less. Why? Volume.

There should be an auto-lock function so that if a thread goes without new postings for X-amount of days, it’s locked and no more messages can be posted to it.

Some forums have warning sign thingy if your about to post in an old thread, and locking could cause a problems in the bst. I know you can just make anew thread, but that makes more clutter.
