# Acid Wash-Anodizing Basics

I see this term alot, but I don’t have a clear understanding of it. Can some one explain and provide clear examples of acid wash? Maybe explain solid vs acid wash?

Also, is a splash generally added by masking the base then bleaching then reanodizing?

Acid Wash is two colors blended together.

It can also be just a single color wash, so red/silver. E.G. (raw)

From an execution standpoint, acidwash is also sometimes a misnomer. Sometimes you use acid to achieve effect, other times you use bleach.
