# A general contest question...

I’ve read some rules on 1A freestyles in the Worlds and a few regionals. But I noticed something that wasn’t covered: Side Cap Bearings.
So my question is: Are they allowed to be used for a freestyle? The answer doesn’t have to be concerning the Worlds or regionals, just contests in general.

I don’t think there are that many regulations on yoyos. And the named feature does not give a player any advantage over other players.

I know it doesn’t much of an advantage. It’s just that I’ve never seen a freestyle in a contest that uses Side Cap Bearings.

You have seen the occasional use of hubstacks in competitions. So I guess it’s legal.

You didn’t read the rules well enough. They’re fine and expressly permitted by the rules.
