# 888x yoyo mods

hi i don’t know much about yoyos

i got an 888x as a gift and i’m wondering if there’s a way to mod it to become unresponsive.

idk what the point of the grips on the side are if it just binds whenever you try to do a trick that requires any slack

Why do you think it needs to be modified? They usually play pretty well as is. To make it unresponsive, you can play it and break it in, or clean the bearing. The “grips” on the side are called hubstacks. Search the tricks forum for hubstack tricks.
