True. The mid rim ring on a lot of OD yoyos (like the cascade and many others I found in [here](https://forums.yoyoexpert.com/t/the-influence-of-the-one-drop-cascade-a-deep-dive/430085)) and the double rim of the chief is functionally similar though.
