# 0A standard sizes/material/wood

Hey, my father and me are planning to make a fixed wooden yoyo.
I’d like to know the standard aprox size, weight as well as the woods they are usually made of. Any advices would be cool:)

Id recommend looking at the ones YYE and modeling it generally off of one you like the look of.
They come in all sizes and shapes!
I like them about 55/38/58

Two penny gap is a rule of thumb promoted by some prominent players, but you could modify from there depending on what you like. Walnut axle is very common and it’s reliable and durable. I’ve used it and it works well.

I keep mine less than 3mm. I’ve had bad experiences with gap widths of 3mm or over.
